What staff actually do
Every role owns something specific. Nobody holds a title without a job attached to it.
Roles
- Owner
- Final say on everything.
- Server Manager
- Promotes, demotes, blacklists and bans. Owns one or two departments from the background.
- Server Specialist
- Manages the project leaders and judges how they are doing.
- Project Leader
- Runs one department and recruits its staff.
- Deputy Project Leader
- Supports the leader and covers part of the job when they are away.
Who owns what
- Community Helpers
- Answer members, keep the server safe, issue warnings and mutes. Owns member questions, moderation, the warning archive.
- News and Opportunities
- Find and publish opportunities worth having. Owns hackathons, grants, internships, competitions.
- Learning
- The teaching side: academic help and the subject roles under it. Owns academic help, the entry test, subject mentors.
- Forge Works
- Run project intake, reviews, bugs and Forge Labs. Owns intake review, the project pipeline, the weekly contest.
- Media and Marketing
- Video, Telegram, and promoting Forge outward. Owns video, Telegram, outward promotion.
Joining a department
Recruitment opens by announcement and runs through a ticket. Learning is the exception: apply any time, sit a short entry test, start teaching. Elite chat rank is the floor for most other roles.
